So, what is Aspartame Mr. Know It All?

what is aspartameAspartame is a very sweet substance used as an artificial sweetener, chiefly in low-calorie products. It is a derivative of aspartic acid and phenylalanine. However, Aspartame’s safety and how it was actually brought to market is not so straight forward. The Aspartame controversy all started around the fact that it was not put on the market because it was proven safe.

It was forced onto the market because of pure politics via Searle and then company President Donald Rumsfeld. Aspartame is potentially a cancer and brain tumor-causing substance that serves no positive purpose in a human body. The means by which Rumsfeld helped get it approved are nefarious at best, criminal at worst.

In the peer reviewed journal, Aspartame: Methanol and the Public Health, Dr. Woodrow Monte wrote: “When DIET SODAS and soft drinks, sweetened with aspartame, are used to replace fluid loss during exercise and physical exertion in hot climates, the intake of methanol can exceed 250 mg/day or 32 times the Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended limit of consumption for this cumulative poison.”
