What Is Aspartame – Is Aspartame Bad For You?
So, what is Aspartame Mr. Know It All?
Aspartame is a very sweet substance used as an artificial sweetener, chiefly in low-calorie products. It is a derivative of aspartic acid and phenylalanine. However, Aspartame’s safety and how it was actually brought to market is not so straight forward. The Aspartame controversy all started around the fact that it was not put on the market because it was proven safe.
It was forced onto the market because of pure politics via Searle and then company President Donald Rumsfeld. Aspartame is potentially a cancer and brain tumor-causing substance that serves no positive purpose in a human body. The means by which Rumsfeld helped get it approved are nefarious at best, criminal at worst.
In the peer reviewed journal, Aspartame: Methanol and the Public Health, Dr. Woodrow Monte wrote: “When DIET SODAS and soft drinks, sweetened with aspartame, are used to replace fluid loss during exercise and physical exertion in hot climates, the intake of methanol can exceed 250 mg/day or 32 times the Environmental Protection Agency’s recommended limit of consumption for this cumulative poison.”
So Is Aspartame Bad For You?
The effects of aspartame are documented by the FDA’s own data. In 1995 the agency was forced, under the Freedom of Information Act, to release a list of aspartame symptoms reported by thousands of victims. From 10,000 consumer complaints, the FDA compiled a list of 92 symptoms, including death. One of the two elements that make up Aspartame is produced using the excrement of Genetically Engineered E.Coli bacteria, and scientists say that they cannot rule out toxic side-effects.
